E-DM - Electricity Dispatch Model
The Electricity Dispatch Model is our in-house optimization model, which is used for generation, transmission and distribution expansion planning problems in complex power systems. This is a Mixed Integer Program written in FICO Xpress-Mosel programming language. In its capabilities and functionality it is comparable to the Plexos model used by many utilities for planning and price simulations, but has the advantage of being more amenable to user defined complexities.
he advantage of having the Electricity Dispatch Model available is that it is flexible and can deal with either centralized planning or market driven electric sector regulations. It can be adapted to work over different time scales and different complexities (or “constraints”) can be applied during execution.
